Employment Restrictions
Employment visa holders under the General Employment Policy (GEP) and Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals (ASMTP) are restricted to work with the employer approved by Immigration Department (ImmD) in Hong Kong only.
If the employment visa holder needs to change employment or take up any part-time employment in Hong Kong, before s/he starts employment with the new employer, s/he is required to submit the change of employment application to ImmD first and must not start employment with the new employer until obtaining prior approval from ImmD. Those who fail to observe this rule may be liable to prosecution.
